Tractor is about to be sold – who buy it?
As the portal DJ Techtools reports, the successful native instruments product line Traktor is about to be sold. There are several potential buyers, but the British company Allen & Heath seems to have the best cards. The two parties are said to have already met in Berlin last month for initial negotiations.
Both Native Instruments (NI) and Allen & Heath could benefit from the deal. While NI could invest more energy and resources in its producer product lines of machines and assemblies, Allen & Heath would have the opportunity to compete more aggressively with global market leader Pioneer and achieve a better balance between software and hardware products.
However, DJ Techtools names a number of other potential buyers: Behringer, InMusic, Novation, Ableton, Bitwig (and other DAWs), Apple, Algoriddim, Roland and Mixed in Key are listed by the portal as theoretical buyers.
