Bye, Bye Plastik: 1500 DJs Sign Anti-Plastic Agreement

The world mobilizes against plastic. No more plastic bags in supermarkets, ban on disposable cutlery and crockery and so on and so forth. In the music industry, too, many artists are now campaigning for celebrations that are as plastic-free as possible, and that’s a good thing.

One of the pioneers of these movements is Canadian Vivie-Ann Bakos, better known as BLOND:SH, the founder of the organization Bye Bye Plastic. The goal is to successively ban disposable plastic from the music industry by 2025. An essential aspect is the integration of a so-called Eco-Rider, who should ensure that there are no more plastic cups and Co. at the DJ desks. Now the “#PlasticFreeParty”-Movement has great news to announce, because more than 1500 artists and agencies have joined the venture.

Among them are also some luminaries like Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Honey Dijon, Sven Väth or Nicole Moudaber, who can give the movement an even greater reach. Bye Bye Plastic was also announced as an official sustainability partner of the IMS (International Music Summit) – another step forward.

We hope that the Bye-Bye Plastic movement will continue to be successful in the future and encourage people to do without plastic.
